BIO
God Against god is a four-piece powerful and provocative rock band hailing from Montreal. They feature a distinctive style with towering and charismatic lead vocals reminiscent of Jim Morrison along with the musical elements of modern hard rock fused with electronic instrumentation.

Front man Éric Violette is well known in the United States as the "Free Credit Report Guy". As lead singer and writer of GAG’s music, he has proven to be much more than just a cute TV face. The “genesis” of the band began when Violette was joined by creative and talented guitarist Sébastien Marchand. The band line-up was completed with Martin Landry, a busy session drummer with an awesome yet subtle style and ultra-talented bass player Germain-Pierre Messier.

Avant-garde flavored but connecting with the mainstream, God Against God's music has captured hearts and minds across Canada and the United States proven by a fan base that has grown exponentially and a tour of the United States planned for summer 2011! Keep your hearts, minds, eyes and ears open as God Against God takes over the music scene in a venue near you!

"God Against God’s emotively eerie sound engrosses their listeners in a deep tapestry of piquant empathy. Their style at once dark and beautiful can be an accurate description of the world as perceived through haunting sensitivity accompanied with an attention to detail that can serve simultaneously as both a curse and a blessing.

While lead singer Eric Violette, is known in the States as the adorably familiar face and voice of free credit report.com, God against God finally shows the talented, provocative and intellectually inspiring capabilities of the practiced musician behind the pop icon encouraging us to check our credit scores.

God Against God is definitely worth exploring for any music collector at the very least for the shocking amount of intricacy and emotional honesty in their compositions. For a flighty but familiar voice out of the darkness of human emotional experience that one can seek both comfort and an outlet for inner torment in as well as instrumental extravagance of an unarguably original format, God Against God is the band to look to. Make sure to get ready to hear more of these guys in the future because I have a feeling a sound so original yet familiar is going to be around for a while." ©TIANA MILLER - April 12, 2010

Eric Violette is the face of freecreditreport.com.  We caught up with him in Times Square - sporting a new haircut and a French accent. "People from the United States, are telling me how much they enjoy the commercials," Violette says. Yes that's Violette 's real voice - he's French Canadian. Those American-looking commercials were all shot in Quebec. "I did the job and I forgot about it. Nobody expected the commercials to be so popular." But they were and Eric's life hasn't been the same since.

So we want to see how many people recognize eric from the commercials. So we've pulled the lights back, we've pulled cameras back. Let's see what people do. It started with a few stares... Then soon, came the fanfare.  Just some of the comments from people on the street:"You're the freecreditreport.com guy?" "I'm sorry i'm kind of in love with him." "Oh my gosh!!! Freecreditreport.com!"  " I gotta take a picture, your commercials are awesome!" Although his fame comes from being the face of the franchise, Violette really can sing. He has his own band (God Against God) and has appeared in Canadian movies.

Entertainment Weekly: 12 Commercial Stars Meet 'Em!

You see them every day in TV's hottest ads; get to know the actors we know as Flo the Progressive Lady, the FreeCreditReport.com singer, and eight more ads' familiar faces.

Eric Violette: YOU KNOW HIM AS... The guitar-strumming, jingle-singing FreeCreditReport.com guy
WHERE ELSE YOU'VE SEEN HIM Unless you frequent the Montreal theater scene, probably just in the FreeCreditReport.com ads. FRENCH TWIST Exchange one word with the actor, and you'll realize his commercials are dubbed: Violette speaks with a French accent. (Quel scandale!) Yet the present-day Milli Vanilli still sings along to the catchy FreeCreditReport.com tunes while taping. ''It puts you into the mood if you sing it for real,'' says Violette, who is a musician as well as an actor. ''I'm not just moving my lips like a fish, you know? I really do sing it. And loudly.'' COSTUME DRAMA The actor was admittedly hesitant about donning pirate and Renaissance-fair duds for the ads. ''You see that costume and you're like, 'No, you're kidding me,''' Violette says. ''If you have too much pride, you cannot do this kind of job. But I think the green tights in the Renaissance commercials looked very good on me.'' Many fans must agree! '' WHAT'S NEXT Focusing on his music career with his indie-rock band, God Against God
